FM Quilters have had a close relationship with the Fiber Arts Festival since its inception. This year, visitors to the festival had an opportunity to see a display of some lovely quilts made by our members, a slide show created by President Jennifer Lefor, and a demonstration of quilting to draw attention. On Saturday, Jennifer brought her sewing machine and Kim Stenehjem demonstrated hand quilting to show the old and new quilting arts in practice. There was a special treat on Sunday when Amanda Abelman and Mary Belcourt sewed up a storm on vintage Sears Featherweights. This kind of public appearances promote the work of our organization and have brought new members into the fold. Thanks to everyone who volunteered at our booth, and who demonstrated other needle arts at the festival!
