President
Jennifer Lefor
Jennifer is serving her first term as President and has been a member of our group for four years. In addition to being an avid quilter, she is also a Solution Architect with software company Salesforce Inc. Jennifer began quilting at the same time she joined FMQuilters and says she is “mostly self-taught through watching YouTube videos, but I’ve been sewing since I was in junior high school.” Jennifer also says she appreciates all quilting styles but leans toward clean, modern designs or reimagined versions of traditional ones. Jennifer lives in Fargo, ND.
Vice President
Muriel Richardson
This is Muriel’s second term as Vice President and co-chairs the Metro Quilt Expo committee. Muriel lives in Fargo, ND.
Treasurer
Barb Zeleznik
Barb served a half term last year as Treasurer after volunteering to take over the role from the previous treasurer and is now serving her first full term in that role. Barb lives in Detroit Lakes, MN and currently co-chairs the Metro Quilt Expo committee.
Secretary
Marcia Retzer
Marcia is serving as Secretary and has been a member for about 22 years. She learned to quilt after turning fifty by taking a Beginners Quilting Class at the Quilters Quarters quilt store (taught by Ann Oanes). When asked her favorite quilt style she says “I don’t really have a “favorite” but can appreciate a variety of styles. Marcia lives in Fargo, ND.
Member at Large
Susan Schmidt
Susan is serving a second term as Member At Large and has been a member for about 15 years. Susan is an RN and has retired from 2 previous jobs (clinic setting and insurance) and currently work at Valley Senior Services serving meals and helping with Meals on Wheels. Susan calls herself a scrappy quilting and learned to quilt after sewing for many years when she bought a quilting magazine in order to make the quilt on the cover. She lives in Fargo, ND.
Member at Large
Julie Desrocher
This is Julie’s first term as a Member At Large. Julie currently lives in Dilworth, MN and worked as an SLP for the Thief River Falls School District. Julie says “I consider myself a scrap quilter. I have been a member since the Indian Summer Quilt Show days. I grew up with my Grandma quilting(scrap log cabins). I became more serious about quilting about 37 years ago when I was asked to join the [Thief River Falls Quilters Guild] by an acquaintance. I went to the meeting, liked it, and joined! She never came to a meeting after she invited me!” Julie lives in Dillworth, MN.
