Tip of the Week: Thread Quality Matters

Whether you’re doing applique or piecing, you’ll get the best results when you use a high quality thread. The higher quality threads will have less fuzzing and breakage. The weight of the thread you use also matters. If you’re mending garments, an all purpose thread will do just fine, but for quilting use a fine to medium weight thread (50 -60 wt.) because it will sink into your fabric when you iron the seam–giving you less bulk.
