Project Linus

It all began for Fargo Moorhead Quilters with a request from local first responders. When they are called to a scene in which children have to be removed from their home, many times they are leaving with just the clothes on their back. Soon after that first request, we began to make quilts for the local Project Linus chapter.

According to the national Project Linus organization’s website, the mission is to “provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

Fargo Moorhead Quilters has provided quilts to the local chapter for many years. For more information about Project Linus, go to their website to read the full history and details about how to participate in this comforting project.
