“I pieced this top many years ago, and never got around to quilting it. Then I traded an art quilt to Clem, in return for her quilting something, so I chose this. Months later, she posted it on Facebook. I saw it and thought, ‘Hmmm, I have a quilt like that. . .’ Then it dawned on me, that was MY quilt! Transformed by the quilting.”
Artist: Kate Ulmer
“I have visited a few National Parks and saw an ad on Facebook about paper pieced park blocks. Purchased a subscription and challenged myself to use my fabric stash to complete the blocks. Once pieced (majority of them are 4″x4″), I had to figure out a way to identify and lay them out. Signs were competed with the embroidery machine. They are laid out geographically. Hope to one day visit more of the parks.”

Pattern source: Simple Appeal book by Kim Diehl
“I love the scrappy look of this Kim Diehl pattern, ‘Lunch Box Social’. Originally a wall hanging size, it was easy to enlarge it to a throw size quilt.”

Pattern Source: McCall’s Quilting – designed by Lynn Lister
“A quilt friend suggested we do this pattern together one star at a time. It was fun seeing the stars in completely different color palettes.”
