“North Dakota blizzards spark inspiration in my quilting world. I challenge myself to use fabrics from my “collection” to come up with new designs. This project was fun to piece, but the difficulty came with quilting it on my home machine using a walking foot, my second attempt. the quilt was used as a silent auction piece for a charity.”

“Most of the fabrics used in this quilt were from my stash, just a few fabrics were purchased for this project.
I liked the looks of this quilt in the book, so I chose fabrics that gave that same look.”

“I save all my scraps. This was a wonderful way to use up a small portion of them! 49 of the fifty blocks (with some modification to be consistent with the background) make up the front. 1/4 of the 50th block was used for the label.”

Pattern Source: Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts
“I have long admired the way that Edyt Sitar’s designs combine the use of traditional cotton with batiks, and I have frequently purchased fat quarters of her collections. This quilt allowed me to dig into my stash and enjoy the challenge of sewing (and seeing) stars!”
