Fabric Postcards Workshop
Teacher: Claire Timjum
When: Saturday February 17th 9:00 am – 12:00 noon
Where: NDSCS-Fargo at 1305 19th Ave in Fargo, ND (across fromo the FargoDome)
Who doesn’t love getting postcards in the mail? Claire Tinjum will show us how to create our own fabric postcards which can actually be mailed.
Quilted postcards are fun to make! They’re a good way to use up scraps (HELLO scrap busting), try out new techniques, and experiment with color and thread you might hesitate to commit to a whole quilt.
In addition to the workshop fee, a kit fee of $5.00 will be due the day of the workshop and will be paid to the instructor.
Please note: Per board policy if you are unable to attend, you may transfer your reservation to a friend, but no refunds will be given.
Supplies Needed:
- Sewing machine that makes a zig zag stitch
- basic sewing supplies
- open toe foot that allows for a zig zag stitch
- size 16 sewing machine needles
- sewing machine thread – recommend cream or white but can also be a color; This is just normal sewing thread that you would use for other fabric projects, but not embroidery machine thread.
- quilting cotton fabric scraps; maybe a fat quarter or two; fabric will also be supplied but if you have a particular color in mind, bring your own.
* Sewing machines must be able to make a zig zag stitch and be in good working order. No part of the class is spent on machine maintenance.
