Last Minute Tidbits

As I write this note on August 28th, I realize that its only 48 days before the MQE quilt judging begins.   Are you ready? Are all your items registered?  Remember to do so before September 21st. then deliver your completed quilt or items to the Red River Valley Fairgrounds-Butler Arena between noon and 5:30pm Tuesday October 15th.  

You can enter as many items as you want, and each item is $10 to enter (categories 9, 10 and 11, no fee required) I have four quilts registered, three completed and only my2023 challenge not started! Let’s see if we can get 300 items registered!

Here are a few deadlines and things to look for at the show.

Raffle BasketsIf you are planning to put together a Raffle Basket with a few friends, we need your form with items you plan to put in your basket, and the cost of the items by September 7th.  Mary will need the actual basket items by October 1 or sooner.

Metro Fiber Art AuctionIf you are donating an item to the MFAA, please read the information attached to the newsletter or go on-line to get details.  Bonnie would like a photo and write-up of your donation e-mailed to her by October 1st at bonlanderson@gmail.com. These entries should be delivered to Butler Arena between noon and 5:30 on Tuesday, October 15.

Raffle Quilts– Stephanie Lacher and Pat link have each donated a quilt and both quilts will be on display Friday and Saturday with the drawing at 3:30 pm on Saturday. Tickets on sale only at the show.

Community Hand SewingTake a break and learn how to hand sew a Pride Block to add to the Community Quilt.  

Special Exhibits:  Peggy Spitzer is sharing her underwater masterpiece, and Our Member Spotlight is on Kim Baird.  I was excited to hear that so many of our Past Presidents will have their finished quilts on display.  

And don’t forget, your quilt is not complete until you put a label on it!
