Every quilter loves the feel of freshly pressed fabric and crisp seams. If you have been put off by the sometimes pricey fabric sprays, you can make your own and customize the scent as well.
Pressing Spray Recipe
6 Tablespoons liquid starch
1 gallon of distilled water
2 ounces cheap vodka
8-12 drops of essential oil (Optional. No fragrance is necessary)
Mix starch with 2 cups of water from the gallon of distilled water. Set aside another 2 cups of water. Boil the rest of the water in a large pot then add in a the starch mixture and bring back to a boil. Remove from heat and add the extra 2 cups of cold water. Mix in 2 ounces of vodka and essential oil, if desired. Cool to room temperature. Fill spray bottle and use as desired.
