If you’re ever been caught without your thimble or just don’t like sewing with one, there’s a surprising way to protect your finger: glue. Put a little dab of Elmers glue on the spot you habitually use to push your needle. Let it dry completely and it gives your finger protection from developing a painful skin puncture. When you’re done sewing, just peel it off.
You can also uses superglue if you want a longer lasting spot of protection although it’s harder to remove.
