Spring Retreat Was a Hit!

By Jennifer Lefor

Thank you to everyone that joined in the fun at the 2023 Spring Retreat and persevered even though Mother Nature was having a temper tantrum! Attendance was light on Saturday because of the snow and wind, but on Friday and Sunday, the hum of machines and laughter filled the room at the DoubleTree by Hilton in West Fargo. Two non-members had so much fun that they signed up to join us – welcome!

Forty-nine quilters stitched and completed fifty-six projects over the three days. “Ringing the bell” alerted everyone to a finished project and the quilter took a moment in the spotlight to present their item. There were tote bags, trivets, art quilts, quilt tops, balloon balls, altered clothing, and mini-bags made from the tutorial Margaret Klindsworth showed. And, there were several projects finished for the Resolution Challenge that we got a sneak peek at. Sew many beautiful projects by a very talented bunch!

The feedback from attendees was helpful for the committee and overall very positive, and we look forward to hosting another retreat in the not-too-distant future (foreshadowing intended) based on comments that once per year was not enough! We are doing some research and you will hear more soon…

Finally, I’d like to give special appreciation to Julie Desroscher and Margaret Klindsworth for all their expertise and time in the planning and execution of this retreat. They know how to get things done! Thank you both so much.
