Our February education time will be dedicated to a SEW-IN. Join us in making little quilted hearts to leave anonymously in public spots. Finding a small handmade token of kindness could really make someone’s day brighter!
This is a nationwide project called I Found a Quilted Heart. It’s fun to look at their website, where people share photos of hearts they have found, and comment on the experience.
No charge, and no need to register. Just come and join the heart-shaped fun in February 18 from 9:00 am-12:00 noon!
Supplies:
You can sew by hand or machine, just bring the necessary basic sewing kit. Also, scissors for paper. Any small scraps can get used up this way. Bring any batting scraps, too, for quilting or padding your heart. A loop of ribbon or yarn or cord will do for a hanger, and you can add a button decoration if you wish. You will probably make several.
We will provide:
- Heart templates
- Labels that say I NEED A HOME
- Polyester stuffing (optional)
- Assorted ribbons and buttons and scraps to share
