Title: Here’s Looking At You Kid

Artist: Barb Zeleznik
Quilted By: Clem Busik
Pattern Source: Zoo Family Portrait Quilt by The (Not So) Dramatic Life

“I saw this pattern on Instagram and knew that I had to make this quilt with Cherrywood fabric. This is the largest paper piecing pattern that I have ever made. It was so much fun to see the animals come to life. I love this quilt!”

Title: Library Cats

Artist: Carl Wichman
Quilted By: Self
Pattern Source: “Bookends” by Mountainpeek Creations

“The center panel was purchased at Dawn’s Quilt Shop in Alexandria. Some of the inspiration comes from my love of books and my cat Barney. Especially the cat in the bottom right corner. The various cat fabrics came from my stash, I collect cat and book fabric when I see it! This is only my third quilt, I usually do smaller projects like table runners. This one I made for me to keep!”

Title: Owls Wonder

Artist: Connie Wood
Quilted By: Self
Pattern Source: One Block Wonder Panel Quilts by Rosenthal Miller

“I love the kaleidoscope effect of one block wonder quilts! I wanted the owl panel to peek through the forest of hexagons. Incorporating the panel into the design was challenging, requiring seams and applique! As a novice free motion quilter, I wanted an edge to edge motif that would be “leafy” and “nestle” the panel in place. Tip: a busy backing leaves a beginners’ quilting less exposed.”
