HCSCC Executive Director Maureen Kelly Jonason reports that the Bedtime Stitches exhibit of the work of fiber artist Salley Mavor has brought in many visitors, and she expects the trend to continue through December 31st when the exhibit closes. She wants to express sincere gratitude for all the ways that members of Fargo Moorhead Quilters have supported the exhibit: promoting the exhibit at fiber arts activities, enthusiastic repeat visits, bringing the grandchildren, filling out surveys, providing demonstrations, and offering workshops that filled fast.
“FM Quilters has always been such a great community partner,” says Jonason. If you haven’t seen the exhibit yet, there is still time: Monday through Saturday 9am-5pm, open Tuesday nights 5-8 for free, and Sundays 12-5. On December 3rd, Virginia Dambach and Debbie Richman will repeat their popular demonstration of Mavor’s techniques from 11am to 1pm, and Dec. 10 there will be morning and afternoon workshops which you can still register for.

Special thanks again goes to FM Quilter Dr. Sandra Gordon who brought the exhibition to Jonason’s attention, generously donated toward expenses, gave a wonderful opening reception presentation on Oct. 15 to a crowd of 40, and continues to encourage active engagement with the exhibit. HCSCC looks forward to partnering with the F-M Quilters again on future fiber arts exhibitions.
