An unusual benefit of membership

During a recent inventory of our storage space, President Kim Baird found that we still have 2 quilting frames available for the use of our members. Although it’s been a long time since we’ve used them, they were lent out to our members regularly until machine quilting became so popular. But Kim reminds us they have another use. You can use them to baste your quilts. It’s certainly easier on your back and knees than taping your quilts to the floor and crawling around basting or pinning. If you are interested in borrowing one, send us an email at fmquilters@gmail.com. Let us know when you wish to pick it up and how long you plan to keep it.

Since it’s been a while since they were used, this YouTube video will show you how to load your quilt and get it ready for basting. But note: our quilt frames are on legs so you don’t have to crawl on the floor to mount it.
