A Weekend With Kathleen Moorhead Johnson
Back by popular demand, Kathleen Moorhead Johnson returns to Fargo-Moorhead for a weekend of events. Kathleen’s workshop were a perennial favorite with quilters at the Indian Summer Quilt Conference so we’ve brought her back to bring her expertise to Fargo Moorhead Quilters.
Kathleen is a veteran quilter, teacher and quilt designer from Alexander, ND. Her classes are always popular and fill quickly. Follow her on facebook to be amazed at the variety and quantity of quilts she makes!
Friday All Day Workshop
Antelope Canyon

Using the pattern Antelope Canyon by Laurie Shifrin Designs, this workshop uses precut strips or cut yardage with a contrasting background for unique log cabin-style blocks perfect for any quilter with little experience. The grace and mystery of Arizona’s gorgeous slot canyons inspired this dramatic quilt as shown in this photo but this 74“ square quilt looks beautiful in many colorways and layouts. It is designed for 2.5” strips and 1.5” strips.
Saturday Half Day Workshop
Machine Applique with Buttonhole

Machine applique is a fun and easy technique to add to your quilt making. Many quilters stay away from applique altogether, thinking it looks difficult or time-consuming. However, this is not necessarily the case at all. On the contrary, applique can be a really fun, easy, and simple way to add pizzazz to your quilts.
This half day workshop will teach you the basics of attaching cut out shapes onto your background fabrics and adding a little pizzazz with the buttonhole stitch and machine embroidery thread.
